Me thinks you are the idiot! LOL Being honest is being honest! No room for lying! Id rather have those that care about me be truthful and get my feelings hurt than lie to me to save my feelings! Lying is not caring for someone! EVER! Ann never said she couldnt be hurt. She values honesty above the false ideas of sparing ones feelings!

Lying is part of social interaction. The last thing you can be is completely honest if you want to have people respect you. If you constantly tell the truth to every person you meet they would very soon get sick of your company. Even if you just withhold the truth. Being totally honest with everybody you meet is a recipe for disaster. Try it.. you will soon watch your friends disappear.

lol maybe lying is a needed part of your social interaction.........but not mine! I have a group of friends who are BRUTALLY honest with one another and that is something we value highly about each other! Try it sometime.......its very freeing!

I'm sure it is very freeing. It can also be very callous. There is no need to inform everybody around you of their faults. Even if they ask. And If you are going to be honest about something obviously important to some one (for example their intellect or their looks) I don''t recommend brutality as a tactic. Unless you just want to be cruel.

It depends. If you define truth according to your mind then you will just manifest more and more shit. But if you define truth not according to your mind, it is needed to be brutally honest.
honesty is not: you look ugly today...that is of the mind.
Honesty is seeing when a person is deceiving his/herself, and pointing this out.

Exactly! If Im asking someones opinion of me.........I damn well want the truth or I dont need them as friends! Being honest doesnt mean that one has to pour out others faults to them! lol cruelty in truth is of the mind! The truth is just the truth.......nothing else!

If your getting that deep, then there is no such thing as 'truth'. Everything we know or experience is simple biochemical reactions in our brain. We can never know if what we 'know' is truth. It is a basic principle of the Sufi. They knew that over 1000 years ago. Truth is simply an illusion.
