DUBHIPPY , peter frampton got his first talk box given from legendary nashville pedal steel guitarist pete drake. They were doing george harrisons album " all things must pass" here in england.
Search for "Pete Drake Forever" to see his talking steel guitar million seller single "forever"FROM 1964.....bit of a gimmik but drake was THE busiest steel played in Nashville in the 60s. played on bob dylans nashville skyline album also.

I watched Alvino Rey a few times in person, about 1938,after I started playing steel guitar on a Gibson D8 Grand Conole, so I had to get one, then later he got a 1942 Gibson Electra-harp, I had to get one of those too, and bought all his old 78rpm records at the time and tried to learn to play like him and copy all his solos. He was it then...al marcus

shame on the arcade fire for trying to pass this off as one of their own recordings.

What? They didn't. They credited him, he's the Butler's grandpa.

I have the 7", they credit it him in a way that makes it appear that they are covering one of his songs which is misleading. often played on college radio, it is always back announced as a song by the Arcade Fire. while dishonest I'll admit I probably would have never heard this amazing song if it wasn't for them to cheers for that.

Win and Will talk about the dude at every opportunity. There's no malice or dishonesty in it at all. The credit phrasing might be a bit weird, but there's no way they're trying to hog Rey's kudos. They don't need to. It wouldn't make sense, there's always demand for a new Arcade Fire track.
