People tend to get it mixed up. They often refer to the 4 judges as "activist" judges. They're SECULAR judges. They may or may not be for gay marriage themselves. How they feel is irrelevant. The constitution obligates them to overturn discrimination.

True. And if those places don't have any religious affiliation, then they should perform gay marriages. Since they don't have religious beliefs holding them back, the only thing stopping them would be homophobia. If you're referring to other religious establishments, then they should get the same choice churches should get. Separation of church and state means separation of religion and government in general, not JUST churches.

i respect your beliefs but all in all they are your beliefs. Do not impose your beliefs on other that is wrong. As for the whole judge thing it is their job to uphold the constitution. Prop 8 understands that the justices have to abide by the constitution and that is why they wanted to add a discriminative amendment to our constitution. Now our constitution is conflicting with its self. Prop 8 was barbaric and stupid. By the way when your rights are being taken away I'll fight for you as well.

Gay couples already have all the rights married couples have and prop 8 doesn't take any of them away. It's just the definition of marriage that will make it so they don't start teaching kids in kindergarten on up without parents permission or awareness that "marriage is any two adults regardless of gender" ETC, like in Massachuessetts, where parents can neither opt their kids out or even protest. What they can do is get arrested and sued though.

Hey, if you want separation of church and state, than vote "YES" on 8. Then churches won't be forced to go against their beliefs, or teachers for that matter, or parents.

Well, it's too late to vote at this point, but I have to disagree. Separation of church and state SHOULD protect a church from being forced to perform gay marriage. As far as teachers and parents, marriage shouldn't be taught in school, and parents have to grow some balls. Talk to your kids, they're going to be just as curious about an unmarried gay couple as a married one. Just tell them that your church believes that gay marriage is wrong. How's that going against your beliefs?
