Didn't Revolver Ocelot from Metal Gear Solid series used to use a Makarov PMM before switching to Colt Single Action Army revolvers?
It's like you're trying to play as him in the Z000NE, although admittedly the pistol was more likely used for executions more than anything else in my view.
I'm still waiting for a game or a mod to feature a 10 mm Auto pistol . . .
Yes, he did use a Mak! It's actually a very g0od design. 9x18mm Makarov round is comparible, possibly slightly favorable, to .380 Auto. The weapon model in STALKER is to0 wide, though. The real one is very slim and sleek. Maybe they thought bigger = c0oler. Really, though, it's slimness and sleekness are part of its appeal.
Sadly, bigger = better is too much of a design element for weapons in games
I'm amazed that Ocelot didn't get a magazine extender or just carry more pistols when he was still using his Mak. He loves pistol action after all.
And sometimes size is necessary to get the job done. I hear the Mk. 23 Mod 0 pistol (AKA the SOCOM pistol of MGS) had to be nearly as large as a D. Eagle to achieve its design objectives.
I'd rather carry a SOCOM pistol than its smaller derivatives, though.
As far as Maks go, there's the PM and the PMM. The PM takes 8-round single-stack mags and the PMM takes 12-round double-stack mags. The one in STALKER is called a PMm but it's actually a PM. Takes 8-rounders. The PMM has a larger grip and magazine well to accomodate the larger staggered mags.

A lot of people don't like the album 'Risk', but it actually does have at least a few g0od songs. I still prefer '80s Megadeth, though.
