    Rubbish! They do stay sound for life. I have 5! Have you ridden one, have you met one? They are big boned, tough and good weight-carriers. It is not cruel. It is a natural gait. My horse actually cannot trot - never has done, never will.

    island had no word for pony in the old days, and since the breed is as old as the language, so therefore they are called Icelandic horses, but yes the majority of Icelandic horses are pony height.

    Technically 14:1hh and under is considered a pony. 14:2 and up is a horse.

    but icelandic horses can als be 150 high. in iceland they are also called horses , also because they are used in sport and so on... sorry my english isn't very well;) not always the high of a horse says when it is a horse or a pony

    yes but icelandic horses can also be more faster. the racking horses go the rack, and this is the same like speedpass , which icelandic horses can also go. this horse is going tölt.
