Este es un breve esbozo de este género musical cultivado en la península de Yucatán. La jarana es parte del enorme acervo cultural del pueblo yucateco. Actualmente se practica en teatros y fiestas tradicionales de los pueblos y tiene sus orígenes en ciertos bailes andaluces y aragoneses que se amestizaron en tierra americana.

    hola saludos, es bueno tener información para la gente pero sin animos de molestar, hubieras puesto alguna jarana de 3x4 o 6x8 ya que, las mujeres que se pintan NO es una jarana, es un son de influencia cubana!

    ASí es, es "las mujeres que se pintan".. en youtube hay un video de esta jarana interpretada por la Camerata Académica de mérida... muy recomendable, por cierto!
