This myth has been so debunked already.... With high speed video taken of these critters it is plain to see that they are simply moths that get blurred on slower frame rate cameras. Slow down the high speed footage and you can see them clearly. Nothing special, just a fast moving, flying critter with a couple wings. There are no 100 ft long samples. Only distant video shots that give the optical illusion of length. Come back down to Earth people.
@george5345 - You saw one when you were 15? Where? If they truly existed then we would have them in the science books by now. Critters can move faster than your eyes and brain can discern what you see. Like moving your hand and leaving a trail....optical illusion. If you want to prove that they exist, catch one. You won't be able to because they are not real.
If they were real, we would have caught one. Hell, i would have seen one myself. But the video camera can only have so many frames per second, that when a bug, like a beetle flys by, it looks like it is stretched out and look the way it does. right?
We've had video cams since the 80s how come they're only showing up on film recently? they're all over youtube and how come no one has found a dead one? I don't doubt that they exist I just think it's strange unless they were released from a melting ice cap or something were they have remained in a state of suspended animation till now! or recreated from genes by some mad scientist.hope they don't eat all the bees lol
DUDE! GOD DAMN ! THEIR FUCKING FAKE! google "flying rod hoax" and start doing better research before you support things like this shit. you give power to these fucking liars man. you should be pissed!

It does not however explain the gigantic ones over 100 or even 1000 feet in length!
