I've watched a lot of Mars Volta videos.. and I'm really liking this one. It's up there with L'Via L'Viaquez.. I just love how this one is put together, randomness of all their crazy shows! <3 best band .. ever.
Pridgen said to get off The Comatorium... They don't know what they are talking about. Thomas is overwhelmed with drum work, he couldnt tour over seas.
Do you even know anything about C&C? They've said many times their main inspiration is Rush, with their favorite album being Hemisphere, and you can totally hear them trying to rip Rush off, which believe me they will never accomplish.
On the 16th I went to the show in Cleveland, and they had to end it early 'cause Cedric was getting sick. They definitely fired Pridgen and haven't announced it yet. Maybe he just wanted to go someplace different than the band? It seems a lot more feasible than them firing him. Plus, Omar said in an interview (there's a link at thecomatorium (dot com)) that Thomas was a great part of the band and stuff like that. Why would he fire him?
Noone knows for sure if he was fired, or just quit, but he is not in the band anymore. They cancelled all shows and he was seen leaving that Raleigh show all pissed off in a cab.
Maybe they didnt get along with him, drug related. Who knows. We'll find out eventually. I wont miss him though, he had mad skills but was just too busy all the time. Made the band sound like a total mess.
Cancelled all shows? Raleigh was their last stop in the U.S., apparently, and they're still selling tickets for their Europe shows. If they were going to have a replacement drummer, I think they would mention something like it. Plus, Omar said in aforementioned interview "[Thomas] always has positive energy, always, even when things get a little weird. He has such a great attitude that I just can't help but think that last piece was in place." I doubt they didn't get along.
