I've seen this documentary, and it was staggering how much he ate. Add in the fact that he couldn't even stand, let alone walk, thus was burning minimal calories, and he just ballooned. He eventually went on The Zone diet, and lost several hundred pounds by the end of the documentary, but still couldn't walk.
