I think the scene is more symbolic than that. The breaking mirror shows that she's shatterred inside as we see all these reflexes of herself, showing how she's struggling all these sides of her. Then she looks at a photo of her and she is happy, confident, good, all the stuff she isnt now. She's now quite dark, unhappy, and doesnt trust anyone.

gosh people who don't understand the mirror breaking and the photo looking are so dumb. its one of the most symbolic scenes of the episode.
