Wii Homebrew mplayer

Why does my MPlayer only play movies at 4:3, instead of 16:9? D:
Btw, I'm on a 16:9 tv and my wii is set to 16:9.
Help :D

Make sure you installed correctly the DVDX libray first. You need the latest Twilight Hack to run the installer.dol file. Once the DVDX is installed, it should run fine.

It could also be a mplayer bug. As you can see in my video, the menu is not loaded but Title 1 is automatically played. There is no way to jump to a specific scene.

Can it run burned dvds?

i have herd rumers that wii was not ment to play dvds and that it can do harm to the disk drive

The drive is a generic DVD drive with a propietary firmware designed to read specially formatted DVDs. I don't think it could be damaged by reading standard DVDs.
