Live 70's improv Jam. The duo only met a short time before and could not speak each others language. So they communicated in broken english. Akkerman said afterwards Lucia had the technique of a God and that he felt like he hed been run over by a Jet plane !

What I love about Paco is that he is soo diverse, he crosses over soo seamlessly, classical, flamenco, jazz, rock. It is the way we should all be thinking about music and the guitar.

I love Paco, but think the exact opposite is the case. Paco plays like Paco and I dont think he really crosses over at all. Even when he plays with Al and Jmac, he is still playing the same way he always does. It;s not like we see him with a Gibson Les Paul and a pick playing along to Hocus Pocus.

I personally love the effects, at first I didn't like it, but now I appreciate the contrast

Lists like that are more about image and popularity and not necessarily about skills. Beside that, they also almost only include guitarists from the Anglo-American music scene. Top guitarists themselves would definitely come up with other lists, when you ask them about their favorites. You bet they know and admire Akkerman and De Lucia.
