I hear ya on that. sometimes people aren't politicized about this language, sometimes it's because they have moved through any shame or self-loathing they might have or maybe that to be accepted its easier to not 'rock the boat'. I know that when I use the word 'fag' I do so within my group of friends as self-reference and reclamation(we're all queer) but I'd still take someone to task on using that word with the context that Coulter used it in.

EXACTLY. I'm gay and I use that term all the time. So do my friends who are also queer and my straight friends.
