I don't know if they've been looking for centuries for dark matter, but probably for the past fifty years. It's science, can't we spend money learning? Jeez.

uh spirit? do you even know what youre talking about? the hunt for dark matter has been going on for centuries now not just the past 16 years. reason to why we spend so much on the search for it is because you just never know what dark matter is let alone what it can do for us. maybe its the next energy source maybe its the cure for cancer...like let them do their thing so we can finally lay the question to rest: What is Dark Matter?
