Vintage 70's Commercial--Wisk Detergent

Why was it always men who got embarrased by being told they had ring around the collar? I think these commercials were more offensive to men because they were the ones who were humiliated and embarrased by being told they had a ring around their collar. I wear white dress shirts all the time and if someone told me i had ring around the collar i would crawl under a rock with utter embarrasment. Before i put my shirts on i always check the collar to make sure theres no ring around it.

LOL,that was funny. Tvland used 2 play this all the time on their retromercials. I tried Wisk a long time ago,and even though it got my clothes clean,after I used up the bottle,I stopped using it. I like 2 try all the detergents at least once,then I switch from two of them. Right now,I'm using ALL,then I'll get Gain and vice versa.

I'd rather see the old "Nair" commercials. They're more fun to watch.

I never knew that. it always was a good detergent, but did not know it came close to extinction. wonder how sales are now without this campaign. it obviously saved them back then and its still around.

Heck yes. We even yelled it at a teen girl wearing a halter top (no collar) (I was a teen at the time) back then once, so she gave us the "salute" back for it! ;)
