A former ESL teacher from Chuncheon, South Korea, present a few quirky tips on how to navigate the difference between Korean and American culture. Tamar answers questions such as "What is lacking in Korean and American restrooms?", "How ubiquitous is kimchi and ketchup in Korean and American refrigerators?" and gives a couple of examples of how homonyms can confuse and amuse people.

kimchee!...tasty stuff...i learned to make it after i visited korea the first time...this american is hooked on korean food/culture/music and especially their variety shows...mc yoo jaesuk ROCKS XD
sorry but this is very inaccurate... korean bathrooms do have toilet paper.. lol.. i live in korea.. korean bathrooms are modern and also more technoligcally advanced than others haha, where did you live??? out in the country? Also you have the pronounciations wrong, which would make what you're saying untrue.. It is "umma" not "oma" . ... I guess you really don't know much...
i was thinking the same thing. American bathrooms might have toilet papers but they're on the dirty floor half soaked with who knows what, so same as not having one. And what's up with Americans not sitting on the toilet seat while going on with their business? It's got urine all over the toilet seat...YUCK!!!
Depending on your gender, there's one of two reasons. Either the guy before you was too drunk to aim straight or the lady before you was too germophobic to just sit down or too lazy to line the seat with one of those paper seat covers or toilet paper before sitting down for the "business" at hand.
lol. I can use the same argument as yours. Depending on where in Korea you are there might not be enough toilet papers. Korea is very high-tech, modernized country. Hence, modernized public restrooms. Here in U.S., there might be "more" public restrooms but need serious upgrading to decent restrooms.
Yeah, you should have gone with me on a recent hike. Quite frankly, I think the lack of soap in a lot of the public park restrooms in the US is worse than the lack of TP in Korean ones. I mean, most people carry tissue in their wallet anyway but how many carry bottles of soap?!?!??!
Hello...I liked your video about Korea. I was thinking about going there to teach English. However I have no experience. Do you have any recommendations that you can give me to make my life more pleasurable in the classroom and in Korea in general?
