This is the opening sequence to "Hurricane Polymar" (1974), one in a series of '70's-'80's "superhero" shows created by Tatsunoko Productions (which include "Space Knight Tekkaman", "Neo-Human Casshern", "Time Bokan" and its various spin-offs and most famously "Science Ninja Team Gatchaman", better known to U.S audiences as "Battle of the Planets" & "G-Force"). Been looking for a damn sub for Polymar on and off for a few years. One day I'll get to watch it. I hope.

I think Polymar is the most obscure and least popular of Tatsunoko's '70's superhero shows, not to mention nearly 40 years old. Good luck finding that. From what I've heard, there's a group fansubbing the original Casshern, but it's hard to come by and progressing slowly.

They've had well over 30 years to translate the original Casshern and Polymar to English, and with the U.S anime industry in a slump and classic anime releases yielding next to no sales (look at ADV's Gatchaman release), it won't ever happen. Not even subs!

I was lucky to grow up watching this as a kid, as apparently in Italy they aired the only non-japanese edition of this classic.

And he REALLY kicked ass, particularly for the old-school standard, beating the crap out of gangs second maybe only to Condor Joe.

Im currently watching that very casshern sub, actually. Thats the main reason ive recently gained hopes for Polymar. The ova got subbed but watching that only made me want to check out the original more lol

I actually think it has a chance, Discotek media announced a release of the OVA recently. They've been licensing a bunch of older series the past few years, and I bet if people express enough interest they just might release the whole series.
