Wow! She is so amazing. I am just amazed with the way that her skates glade on the ice. It is so beautiful. I am going to start taking Ice Skating lessons, but, I doubt that I will be as good as her. I mean, LOOK at her! She is AMAZING!
hey does anybody know where to find like michelles last exhibiton skate? shes wearing a white dress, and its very beautiful and unique? like mia micheals style (dance person if you dont know search her up , shes amazing)
@frostdiamond1: The point though is that, at the time Kwan won her gold in 1996, she did 7 triple programs, and was at the peak of her sport in both technique, and certainly artistry. I'm glad that you at least respect her. To be 15 and beat out a flawless program from Chen Lu, that's pretty f-ing phenomenal.
@mariahfan444: What a brilliant comment! I completely agree. A quad, or triple-triple jump is impressive, but the impression lasts for all of 5 seconds. Kwan's impact, with her emotion, joy and grace was electric and keeps us coming back years later.
@ericsingasong: Yeah, I mean, Kwan is synonymous with figure skating. I have to say that Sarah (not sure about Tara) seems like a very lovely, nice person, so I don't begrudge her gold at all. I have seen interviews with Tara, Sarah, and Sasha, and they have all stated that Michelle Kwan is a legend of the sport, and the best ever, so I think that speaks for itself.
@Empiren1: Don't worry that she didn't get gold. I think it's overrated anyway. I mean, no one can really argue that Sarah Huges is a better skater than Kwan (Even Hughes has said Kwan is her role-model and standard of the sport). The Olympics represents a moment in history; I look at an athlete's record and number of perfect moments. In that sense, there will never be another Kwan. Again, this skate is prob. the best pairing of grace and music ever.
@mlc2005 Don't worry that she didn't get gold. I think it's overrated anyway. Boy, people will go to any lenghts to defend this mediocre loser. The Olympic Gold is THE only medal that counts. Period! It's almost funny that it is downplayed because Kwan couldn't cut it...so how about all them other titles she touts..are they meaningless and if so how is she a legend? No, there will never be another Kwan and thank GOD and the cop for that! Olympic Gold is EVERYTHING! She hung on and on to win it.
