The amazing part about that flip is there was no harnass or digital effect used. That was a professional diver who did that flip out of his own ability.

Theres a difference between reaction and emotion. For example, the police in the Nether fight, the look in their eyes is shock. Shock is a knee-jerk physical reaction without any emotional element.

And yes, Dupont and Brandt were off the drug because to be able to follow him, Preston's partner would have had to have emotion to know what Preston was thinking. Of course, Dupont is above the law, and he was off the drug so he was able to maintain power. He admits to it at the end of the movie
