Man, I was around when this song came out during the Vietnam War & I've never forgotten it, nor lost love for it. So strong! Sadly, it's still true today. I never thot I'd be 50 & still find this song relelvant.

Great line, too bad it's not Messina's. Most people dont' know that its from the Bible and like many writers, they have borrowed lines from the 'good book.
