Stunning, and breathtaking! Oh, how in my young girls heart I dreamed of dancing such a beautiful piece and being that talented. Bitter sweet memories, I miss dancing!

I think that John Gardner is the best partner I have seen do this role. He is one of the few, or the only, who does not demonstrate an umph/ugh quality on those hard knee lifts into an overhead arabesque. I love how his head inclines as he looks at her during the beautiful swinging, turning lifts on the last diagonal.

I need to see Mr. Tudor's Undertow. I remember that Mr. Tudor said it was one of the works in which he was the most proud because of how he got dancers on and off the stage. Yes, I have seen the live performance, but need to study more. I can purchase a copy, or I can just stay stupid, wallowing in my own absence of choreographic talents.

I love Mr. Tudor's Leaves. A while ago, Jardin was on YouTube and was taken off. If the Gods of Copyright hear my prayers, please put Jardin back on. I am all for dancers and everyone involved getting paid, but Jardin, I am having Jardin withdrawal. We will never have another Tudor.

I believe almost all the music is from a cycle of 12 pieces for string quartet, called Cypresses. There might be other music in there, but I find that the most memorable music in the ballet is included. I have a digital recording on the NAXOS label: Works for String Quartet, Vol. 5. Played by the Vlach Quartet Prague. Hope this helps.
