i love piri's work and books and in 2009 itz still da sam struggle for our ppl and i will make sure my children have the knowlege of workz from these beautiful latino word composers ...a true latin king

Piri thank you for "DOWN THESE MEAN STREETS" For keeping it real. For having 'Heart'. You taught me to stand back and look at the rejected, the different colors of our people - our neigborhoods - as something beautiful to hold as mine. I still take care of that gift and I will always hold it close to my heart. Thank you. China
