Da waren ganz ganz sicher schwer sichtbare, aber stabile Schnüre an den Armlehnen befestigt.

Schaut nämlich mal den Deckel des Glaskastens an, wo sich Copperfield drauflegt. Der Deckel deckt nicht den gesamten Kasten ab. Da sind links und rechts zwei Spalte offen.

Klar, sonst könnten die Schnüre ja nicht durchpassen und wäre es tatsächlich Magie ^^

How the heck does he do it? Wires? The top of the glass leaves small opening on both sides. Maybe wires fit through there.
