I think that when you said that its know as Junk But Loud, it was YOUR opinion and not actually the opinion of anyone i've ever met, talked to, emailed, texted or anything else. I've never ever heard anyone say all JBL is junk, like you're insinuating. Anyway, sorry for taking up so much space, I just wanted to get my point accross.
By the way, when I said it's the best speaker manufacturer in the world (in my opinion), I meant for price and outright durability. JBL's SRX series and above can take a bashing like not many other manufacturers. It's expensive, but not as expensive as the stupidly priced Funktion One. My overall point being, in my opinion, the SRX and bove series are fantastic speakers, they were in the Miley Cyrus film 'best of both worlds'. They could of hired any speaker out, but they chose JBL Vertec.
I dont think JBL is quite as good as EAW, RCF, Martin Audio, D& B Audio, Turbosound etc....but in thousands, even millions of people's opinion, their SRX series and above are excellent speakers. If it was junk, then world class sound tech guys wouldn't be saying they like it. I've never heard a bad thing about JBL from anyone. I've heard a few people say they don't like JBL, but they've never said its crap, like what you're kind of insinuating.
think to be honest, JBL is the best speaker manufacturer in the world, simply because ALL their speakers are excellent quality and manufacturerd with such quality its hard to define in words. They make pc speakers, pa line array speakers, care stereo speakers, and speakers for everything and all their speakers are excellent. Obviously they're is other manufacturers out there who make awesome speakers, but JBL seems to have become a legend simply because all their speakers are so good.
I have been in the audio industry for over 25 years. I have worked for some of the largest dealers in the USA. Over the years we have seen Harman take JBL, dumb it down, do a bunch of marketing spin, and sell it to the masses. They are not as good as they used to be. Those in the industry don't call it Junk But Loud for nothing. They DO make some good stuff, but the days of being the best are behind them.
I definately wouldn't call JBL junk, and i've not heard a single person in the industry say JBL is junk either so either you're lieing or dislusional i'm affraid. Even industry pros who work with some of the biggest bands and singers in the world say JBL isn't junk. The sound quality is way better than its ever been, and i've heard JBL speakers as far back as 20 years ago.
@djteknovibe Have you ever done a shoot out between JBL and competing brands? Have you done cost analysis? Do you understand that JBL does not make everything that they sell? Your claims are unscientific and untrue. Peavey makes products that will leave JBL in the dust. You have to qualify your broad statements.
Yeah, of course i've heard various Peavey, EAW, RCF, Turbosound, D&D Audio, GAE, EV, Nexo, Funktion One, god I could go on all day and night. I love JBL and so do millions of people round the world. You ask to qualify my broad statements, but you say JBL is know as Junk But Loud, haa haa. JBL speakers are expensive, and are definately a slight bit overpriced, but hell its brilliant equipment when you get at the SRX series and above in my opinion, and countless other sound engineers
