this is scary.. ive had 2 mri scans and have gotta go back for another one soon i hate them the noise is horrible and the thought of getting sucked like that scares me to death haha! ive got a metal plate in my wrist why didnt this happen to me when i got mine done?
Hmmm... I eventually had a scan in this very hospital only three months ago. I wondered why there was such a long waiting list.... I swear it smelled of watermelon....
While the magnet is powerful It's not going to draw the iron in your blood towards one end. Also while in the machine you are technically in the magnet so it simply causes your protons to align.
This is, however, a very good reason to remove all metal objects and to listen to what the radiographer says. MRI's are perfectly safe so long as you have a little respect for them.
