1977 Guitar Player Recors. This is a gospel style of BB King in the mid-60's. The 8 bar structure, in which the chords are voiced like Ray Charles' horn section is common in gospel and country music.

Well Faroutdog, so was I. I was the roadie of that band and you have no idea how good he really was. The last set at the Keystone was always interesting. Phil Borwn
not spamming or anything but i found this record and a lot of bloomfield's older stuff at emusic (dot) com. its a good site for a lot of old blues, jazz, classical, indie pop and rock
That has been my life, and I talked about it with John Hammond when I saw him last. John and Mike were the guys for me as a teen two years younger. It is too bad you have to die to get peoples attention. That will be my lot too. But studying styles is a phase - a very good one -you'll get over it. I'm in the phase where I don't like to hear another guitarist so I won't be influenced.
the sad thing is, i feel bloomfield's legacy hasn't aged well at all in public eye. in life it sounds like he was a solid second tier name, but now, you know him either because you saw him live back in the day, or like me you actively seek out inspiration. compare that the attention given to hendrix or vaughn, it's fucking pathetic. i asked my dad, a 70's youth if he had heard of mike. blank stare. and hammond- he's not even on the map. what would you recommend? i only have shake for me w/duane.
You took the words right out of my mouth, half the people these days have never heard of him, it is sad. Just tell people to listen to East-West that should get there attention
