I'll tell you what the problem with this crap they sell today is, these young scally wags are to damn lazy to pick up an instrument and learn to play it, everybody's talking about beats, this beats that, from a damn machine, take some time and learn how to play or else you'll wind up living in your van down by the river with your damn drum machine!
black music does not reach out to you and touch your soul anymore. to matthatter, record companies have always been and always will be about the dollars, but dont get me wrong, there are executives like clive davis, ahmet artegun, to just name a few, who have always recognnized great talent when they heard it.
Sing A Simple Song was originally by Sly and the Family Stone from their album 'Stand!' (1969) it was also covered by Diana Ross and the Supremes the same year!
Yeah ya know the funny thing is I read liner notes in reissues of the classic albums of the '60s and '70s criticizing today's music industry on how they do things when these albums are reissued by the very labels that are putting out the crap kids are listening to today! Kinda backwards dontcha think? LOL.

"Lickin' Stick". They fliped the groove a bit and came up with this classic.
