I am seeign alot of ignorance here.

Unfortunately, without investment banks there would be only a fraction of the wealth in society that ALL of us are enjoying.
There would be ALOT more unemployment.

And about debt : the very loan you owe (credit card / house / car, etc.) way likely repackaged and resold by and to investment banks, who CREATE a market for it.
Without them, you guys would have much trouble raising money for your fuckin toyota payments.
Just saying.

So now the moneychangers claim to be doing "God's work". They made risky bets (including betting against their own clients' positions) which triggered a global economic collapse, worsening poverty and killing more vulnerable people around the globe. Then they paid themselves huge bonuses using taxpayers' money that should be spent on education, Veterans and medical care. The slow-witted old man who cleans our office toilets adds more value to life than Lloyd Blankfein and his cabal of banksters.

I used to work at Merrill Lynch from 2004 - 2007. I started off at 55K! Ha! No hamptons for me. Half of the IT workforce is from India and half of the other half are Russian Jews who escaped communism and moved to USA. It's all a scam and we all know it.

It's JUST A JOB to everyone. It's all about MVC, PL-SQL, JAVA, OBJECTS, MQSI, XML, XSLT, PERL, etc. We are all pawns.

I do not advocate, call for or hope but hypothesize that if a peaceful end to the illegal private Federal Reserve System (google: fractional reserve lending) BANKSTERS MAY BE THE FIRST WHO ARE DESTROYED BY AN ANGRY PUBLIC...of course, private Fed Reserve Members who already took their $ and hired major security, not the moron who thinks a few mill is big money, will already have fled.
