Of course he had some personal problems, don't we all? But he tried to sell peace as if it were a consumer good, like a TV, or a vacuum cleaner. He stood for believing in oneself, peace, and love. I'm sorry for not understanding how those values somehow offend people. And while I'll defend your right to think a certain way about him, I will exercise my right to disagree with you.

Great point iljn1988, these comatose fools just can't accept that a large part of his outspokenness and contrarian public persona was a very clever marketing tool especially later in his career when he nothing to say musically.

Come on 20012607...John Lennon did more to fight the system than any other man in history? Are you being serious?

I'm a massive Lennon fan but let's be realistic here, he was a musician, not a politician or world leader. His heart was in the right place but he missed the point a lot of the time and came out with some absolute rubbish. Als, he was a self-confessed woman beater so he didn't stand for love and peace as much as some might think.

@mrmakemaday....that makes no sense, because john lennon wasn't gay and wasn't a junkie....everybody should look up to lennon because he stood for peace and love and happiness, theres nothing else you really need. he was the most memorable man in history that stood up against this corrupt monarchy we call a government.

well I have never smoked hash nor have i ever taken drugs,so why should anyone look up too lennon,or do role models have to be gay or junkies nowadays EH?
