This is the legendary song from John Coltrane, "Giant steps", played by a japanese robot! Sounds weird.. http://tkrobo.rbts.k.hosei....

You sound like a dick. "I'm extremely good with all of them."
Also, don't be so incredibly touchy about a robot playing giant steps. It sucks, we know, don't get your nutsack twisted over it.

well when ive played them for going on 17 almost 18 years started when i was 2 from my uncle its not really " You sound like a dick" wessel ive just had years of practice so when i say "I'm extremely good with all of them" i actually am. I may be touchy about it but when John Coltrane is one of my biggest idols as a sax player and seein a robot butcher what he made, i have a reason to be touchy. But now my question is are you a muscian wessel?

Yes I am. But no offense, even though you must be a great sax player after 18 years of playing, you still sound like a dick when you say your extremely good at them, it's not just you, if Coltrane would've said it, he'd sound like a dick too(even though he is near perfect).

the person who put this together must be very creative and accomplished, technolocially speaking;but it's nothing more than usless as far as musicality is concerned...

This actually gives me a pretty weird thought: say that, in the future, there are "musician" robots that have the repertoires of some of the most famous jazz musicians programmed into them. Suddenly, the robots start to rebel against our society. So, music would the robots play? Certainly not the "inferior" music written by "mere" humans. I imagine them speeding up, reversing, and just plain mashing up the songs that they know. It would be BEYOND freeform jazz. Can't wait to hear it. :P

what is everybody talking about! the idea of this is not to make music thats what musicians are for (and can do it much better then robots) but its the fact that this is a huge technological leap, people have made a robot, a non-human computer thing play a saxophone. don't get me wrong its not the best performance ever of a timeless classic but again its not about the music its about the technological advancement.
