route 66 was one of the most important highways in the us, it stands for freedom and the wild years, were u got your harley and made a tour through us, in a way a big symbol for freedom with a lot of style, like the inns and hotels which where placed every where at the route, but today 66's glory is faiding with hotelcompanys, mc donals instead of inns and the new ways for transportation like new better routes and a much more bigger aircraft capacity. (sry for my english, from germany =)

why s rout 66 so famous?? im from sweden so i dont know

@Zkrudriverz because it was the frist ever highway to connect some of the majer city of the U.S.A and it was the longest of its kind in its hayday and small towns were poping up every ware on the strech of road and made the populashin go up by 40%
