i have a cd of the Emerson quintet playing this(it's a cd of all the shosty quartets)obviously the sound quality was much better, but i liked their energy as well.
can anybody recommend some composers if i like this type of style and ensemble of music?

Béla Bartók.
His complete quartets are available by the Emerson Quartet.
