Sorrowful? No way. Firstly, it is Jupiter--Bringer of Joy. Then, as far as this performance is concerned, I see only Joy in Owe's face and body language. When I listen to this piece it makes me experience all that it is to be human.

I agree it is not sorrowful, every time I listen to this song I look like that, but it is because it is too beautiful and the connotations are too large for me to stay dry-eyed during. The better I know this song, the more I fall in love with it.

I don't think Oue is interpreting it sorrowfully, I just think that he was moved by it in general.

I find it fascinating that the legato 3/4 theme can be interpreted as either joyous happiness (as Holst intended) or lamenting sorrow (as Oue conveys), and still have the same effect. Perhaps it further illustrates the two profound aspects of true love?
