Well, I haven;t read it in twenty years, but I don't remember any fantastical creatures or stuff like that. Just the kids talking about the stuff they imagined.
yeah but the fantastical creatures were just in the kids minds. they did talk about the stuff they imagined, but which would you prefer? just talking about what they see, or showing you what they see?
It depends. Pan's Labyrinth did a good job of switching from imagination to reality and back.
I didn't actually watch the new Terebithia, but from the commercials (and the abundant CGI creatures) it looked like they were trying to get a lot of people who wanted something in the LotR/Narnia/Harry Potter flavor.
The book never struck me as being anything like what the commercial showed. It was a lot more of a preteen, angsty, psychological drama than a fantasy movie. But that's just me.
Hm. I kinda prefer Leslie as a boy. The name is girly though I'm sure it's okay for guys too. A bit unprofessional, I have to admit, but it's an old movie...I guess I can excuse it or something.
@rosesinvase Leslie is a girl in this version, too lol. If you've read the book, Jess first couldn't tell if Leslie was a girl or boy but Leslie IS a girl, even in this 1985 version.

the newer version resembles the book A LOT better than this bad-acting movie.
