Also(I hate repeating myslef), Armenian were under turkish rule..and naturally they wanted their freedom..what wasn't a possibility, was any kind of Armenian "gangs" to accomplish independance..and Armenians were VOLUNTEERS in the Russian army; pre communist revolution. The civilian population was of NO threat, unarmed, and consisted of women and children. The few Greeks(a few thousand) and Armenians left is laughable..and in many cases, the survivors of massacre took on turksih indentities.
