i would say YES and NO at the same time- yes because in general Twyla Tharp has created one reasonable peace in a BIG mosaic called contemporary dance. NO because CONTEMPORARY DANCE is about movements of humans body, ways are limited, as well, if one has got an idea, be sure, an other thousand of people has got it as well, question is only in tome of realization. ( what if my choreographer has no idea about this lady?).
mmm, would be VERY interesting to listen to it :) Pablo Valetti is a great violinist! i had the same teacher for a while.. yes, i am one of the performers.
yes, you are ABSOLUTELY right, that is an organ work. this is my own version to this great music. at least in Latvia it was a common practice in the baroque period for the fact if u had a sheet music (that was not cheap in those days too) available. it was sounding definitely!! vocal peaces in instrumental version or just on the organ and vice versa.
This is YOUR transcription? So you are one of the performers? I have listened the same piece performed in a quite similar style (obvious, because the original is the same ;-) by the ensemble of Pablo Valetti (I think you should know this violinist) that made a very good cd all about Buxtehude (named "Ciaccona, il mondo che gira", by Alfa).
