What happened with hi5 and Twitter?...Is so interesant how the Social Networking has become a popular media not only for meet people but also for social movements.
I don't think they're a waste of our lives. Their main purpose is to expand our communication with others. Just by a click of a button or 2 you're able to stay in touch with friends or family who live miles away from you. What's so damaging about that?
You have a good point but studies have shown that people have more "Facebook Friends" then they even know. I believe it is getting out of hand and just in response to what you said, if that is all people do (message your family members/friends that live far away) the average person wouldn't need over 300 members on their friends list.
The damage comes in when you use it to connect with friends of friends of friends whom you don't even know! Or when it's used to keep in touch with friends/family who DON'T live miles away, but are right beside you @ home!
