The song has nothing to do with religion. It iws about how love can be used to degrade, dis-empower and destroy. Samson was enslaved by Delila when she cut his hair to control him. One partner in an affair may use love in this way and it is to simple to say "love" is god or even always good. Love can also be used to destroy and control and we all know people who have been ruined by loving the wrong person.

God is love. Love is sacrifice. God showed us that He loves us by sacrificing His Son for us. Jesus was perfect, and loved perfectly, yet the world nailed Him to a cross. But God allowed Him to be nailed to the cross to show us that love is greater than worldly strength and power.Jesus rose from the dead to show us that we will overcome and one day be reunited with the creator of our souls.His sheep know His voice, and they follow Him.
Worldly "love" isn't real love...it's more like infatuation.
