This SOOO NEEDS to be made into a Proper film.
The book's expansive imagination is EPIC!! it even blow Rama out of the water!

Come on Hollywood .. or better still Weta! .. Stop making dumb remakes of older films, & Comic book heros, & Give us something like EON to really sink our teeth into!!!

sadly, think it is because its 'hard' sci-fi as opposed to the mass produced soft sci-fi of SW and star trek

a great shame tho, would love to see many of Mr Bear's films on screen

Well done! I'd go see it in the theaters, if it was made, that is.

Nitpicks - Olmy and the Frant stop Vasquez as she gets off one of the trains during the Russian invasion - (though this is a lot more exciting!) I want to see Axis City!!!

FYI Juno (the asteroid from which the Stone was created) has always been a part of our solar system.

Look up "hallucigenia" on Google image search, Greg Bear based Jarts on this fossil, or rather the early (wrong) upside-down interpretation when it was thought to have walked on it's spines.
