Music performance at Daikakuji before the Tsukimi

This was taken by my fiance who is at JCMU in Japan studying Japanese Language & Culture. It was a performance by priestesses at a temple in Kyoto for the annual moon viewing ceremony.

We would prepare many traditional tsukimi festival dishes, & after eating we'ld go outside, write a few haiku while viewing the moon. Here are some of my old tsukimi haiku:

Your breath in my hand,
Warm valley filled with moonlight;
The night's balm lingers.
- - -
Looking up I see
a muted moon gazing down.
How long before dawn?
- - -
Moonlight in your eyes,
the taste of salt on my lips.
Stop laughing, hold still.
