The earth revolves at rates set the harmonies of kinetic and gravitational energies. These can be measured and defined. saying 17 seconds = 1700 work hours or something is ludicrous.
Calibrating your vibrational tone to see the flow of opportunities is great, fantasying about action-less directions is the basis for various criticism that this message has endured.

btw, each Abraham youtube comment is workth 18*pi "thought hours" :)

About action hours...

If you've ever manifested something into your experience--i.e. something that happened because of your focus, not because of loads of "hard work"--it's seems like it'd be almost impossible to bring about the same, synchronistic, almost perfect results by action. For me, this shows up well in relationships and how much of an uncanny match they are.

That's the idea behind focus--you can do things yourself, OR use focus to involve the other "parts" of You for more leverage.

I remember reading or watching something from Abraham where Abe explained that the 17 seconds number was mostly there to express an idea.

I'm kind of butchering Abe's explanation here, but I think the main idea of 17 seconds is like... well, have you heard the story of "use the boat to reach the destination, but once you reach it, leave the boat behind"?

That's what the 17 seconds thing is like—a boat to help you to learn to focus, but once you're there, you don't need the number as much.
