This is great ! No need to compare with Gene Pitney, just take it as it is. The female version of this song. Eddi has the vixen-vamp Modonna thing going for her. It hot !

Totally unlike anyting else eddi did, but brilliant. She can do anything and should be a star in America - her new album is great.

Actually I like both the original and this vid however I like Eddie Readers version more only because it is more modern, she sings it superbly and it is very very sexy. I also love Scottish women. Eddie Reader is a dynamite singer easily as good as American greats like Ronstadt etc.
