A suggestion:. Get a wireless relay to turn your dust remover off/on and carry it in your pocket. Thanks for the series of videos'. You do excellent work. I cannot agree with the principle of using wood for what appears to be *all* principal scaled flue pipes. There's a limitation imposed on wood pipes that stops the voicer from getting the sound they *typically*want for principal tone- beyond a certain pitch-about g 32 on an open 8'. But it boils down to taste and using what you have.
Nice work! Only 249 to go...lol Lots of cabinet making skills used there. Nice little shop setup, though it probably gets crowded fast.
Do you get allot of tear-out with the radial arm saw? I prefer a sliding miter saw for end cuts Thanks for posting! Will be helpful if I get around to making a 20 note organ clock.
Yes, they're usually made of metal and the difference between metal and wood pipes becomes very apparent in the higher pitches. A good argument can be made for the making of Principal 8's from C1 to about g 20 of open wood construction. But it's not very efficient if you're running a big pipe organ company. If metal becomes scarce or too costly the option becomes viable and vice versa. Packing and shipping wood pipes is much easier and less costly than metal pipes.
