There are deep scallops and shallow scallops, too, so it depends which you have. I've played the Yngwie Strat and I LOVE the feel, for any style. I think if the feel of a scalloped fretboard suits you - and your particular touch - well, you could play any genre of music with it. SRV used very large frets which does bring the neck a little closer to that "elevated" feel that a scalloped neck has. And the point about a graduated scallop is a good one.
i don't like john petrucci :x Beauty can be seen in more tha one way^^ I mean, there is Steve Vai playing beauty, there is Yngwie playing beauty, there is Steve Ouimette playing beauty,etc...we must have more that one point of view about this^^
Yeah, like I said, eye of the beholder. To say Yngwie doesn't show his love for the guitar is, quite simply, erroneous. You either see it or you don't, but it certainly doesn't mean it's not there.
Oh,damn it,exactly! That's what i ment from the beggining,finally somebody understands me :D Yngwie only shows skill,but he's love is there^^ Every guitar player has a different style,it's a reality :p
Yeah, and thank goodness, too. :) It's what keeps it all interesting, right? And when certain players really touch your soul, it makes it all the more a beautiful experience.
Bullseye! My guitar is like, the most important thing in the world for me,and when players like Yngwie,Steve Vai,Dave Gilmour and so,do a great job as they do,can be quite bone chilling *-* "You should always have a song in your heart" said a wise main =)
