The Pianist - Chopin Ballade No. 1

The most impressive and touching piano playing scene ever. I love this movie too.

Just beautiful! My grandfather plays all Chopin, and I can sit for hours listening to him play. Really his life is in an of itself amazing. He just sits at his piano and plays all day long. Hopefully one day my life will play out similarly! The director should have included the entire piece here though! I would have loved to listen more!

You may also enjoy Ingmar Bergman cinema. The focus is a gentle pace, emotion, small moments emphasized. His films impact largely at a primary emotional level and then the deeper philosophical ideas emerge. Very personal journeys.

Yes. I think they would. Chances are wonderfully positive that if you're watching a movie called: "The Piano", that you are expecting to hear some music... on the piano... so my response is yes.

Well then you're wrong. =P (It's called "The Pianist" btw. Although "The Piano" is also a very good movie.)

You overestimate the attention span of American audiences my friend.

How very careless of me. I still remain steadfast however, seeing as the target audience for this movie was not the "typical American". Consider what is watched by today's typical American's: "Southpark", "Family Guy", and the like. This movie was intended for an audience that could appreciate Romantic music, not be bored by it. You and I are not the only human beings alive that would have liked to have seen the whole performance.
