Arvo Pärts Komposition ist super. Aber diese Interpretation ist viel zu schnell gesungen. Arvo Pärts Musik lebt von der Einfachheit (weswegen der Chor aus kein Vibrato benutzen sollte) und vom Auskosten der Töne. Das macht seine Musik so einzigartig. Das hier ist definitiv keine gute Interpretation, auch wenn es ein guter Chor ist.

I didn't like this recording. It felt rushed at that speed, and the constant rubato felt out of place: this piece needs to build with a gradual, crushing inevitablility. Also, I think Pärt's choral music sounds much better when the choir sings without vibrato.

100% agreed. Unfortunately, I believe Pärt's marked this recording as "Ad Libitum", a quite imprecise directive for tempo; so formally they can play like this. Also, I think that was decided because the piano cannot sustain long notes like the organ.

Concordo con didogatto per la questione del tempo...però è proprio una bella versione, complimenti!

particolare versione, col pianoforte al posto dell'organo; ottimo coro, ben diretto, con belle voci; però qualche leggerissima instabilità nella velocità non mi pare giustificata dalla partitura... ma dal vivo può succedere; bravissimi, comunque!
