Wasted Youth were a London post-punk band, 1979-82. This was their debut single, kick-starting them into becoming a bohemian, psychedelic live circuit favourite. Dressed all in black, some in shades and/or make-up, they pre-dated the goth scene. Guitarist Rocco went on to form Flesh For Lulu. A compilation 'Memorialize' of all their singles '79-82 & more is being released on Jungle, cat. no FREUDCD089. This video, never before seen, is from a DVD 'Survivors', which is EXCLUSIVELY available from the Bridge House website shop: http://www.thebridgehousee16.com www.jungle-records.com

I made this video in 1979. It was filmed in the basement studios of City of London Poly in Aldgate East. Part of a video film group called VideoActive. It was filmed with b/w cameras onto U-matic tape and tinted through the time base corrector during edit. Very basic gear. Note the cigarette glow in the background.

Great band live. This is very unrepresentative of their sound.
