From the premiere episode of Fame, which aired on NBC for a year and a half. It went off the air in 1983, but returned in syndication that fall. Erica was hot as a singer, but was a real you-know-what to Lori Singer's character, Julie, at the beginning. Eventually, Coco and Julie would become friends, though. The 1983 opener revealed that Julie wasn't coming back to school. Coco was shaken by this. Lori had left to work on Footloose and other projects.
