Great way of showing the Horse stance. My nephew can do it also. We are about the same age and i tried to push him into the water a couple of years back. Bu the guy didn't fuckin move. He stood there like a tree rooted in the sand while we were at the beach. Instead he grabbed me and tossed me like 4 feet away INTO the water. That kinda sucked. But the Horse stance is something unusual but AWESOME! Sorry just had to say this :D
When I was 1 yo I fell a lot. Also at 11 when I was learning to balance on my hands and up on a beam, or on skates. Getting good at a sport or activity usually means you fall LESS... I just don't understand a martial art where the techniques stresses falling, over and over. And the heavy clothing? I guess I will have to learn to appreciate other aspects of it! Thanks for posting!
In Aikido you don't have to fall - it's just that if you stand and 'take' the technique you will get injured. Many of the techniques are from a JuJitsu origin where the end of the technique resulted in broken wrists, arms, etc. Better to fall, roll and get back up then sustain permanent injury.
