Al-Andalus (Arabic: الأندلس) was the Arabic name given to those parts of the Iberian Peninsula governed by Muslims, at various times in the period between 711 and 1492. It refers to the Umayyad Caliphate province (711-750), Emirate of Cordoba (c. 750-929) and Caliphate of Cordoba (929-1031) and its "taifa" ("successor") kingdoms.
The Alhambra (Arabic: الحمراء ; literally "the red") is a palace and fortress complex of the Moorish monarchs of Granada, in southern Spain (known as Al-Andalus when the fortress was constructed), occupying a hilly terrace on the south-eastern border of the city of Granada. It was the residence of the Muslim kings of Granada and their court, but is currently a museum exhibiting exquisite Islamic architecture.

Nevermind. I see you were trying to reply to a wiseass below. I thought you were just insulting Spain's Moorish heritage. So sorry. Nevermind.

This is just a small part of Spain, no its "cultural center" at all, unlike in Italy, the land of the Moorish-Jewish-Syrian-Anatolian relatives of "CountryStrongRedneck" (a ridiculous Italian-New Yorker troll clumsily trying to pass as a "redneck") further below, where things like the mafia are its heart & soul. Not very "European" at all.

You are trying to compare the civilization of ancient Greece and the Ottoman Empire? These civilizations are separated by almost 2,000 years. What a mongol you are. Turks are so open minded that they don't even recognize the Ecumenical Patriarch's proper title and only recently did they allow kurds to speak kurdish in court. The Ottomans had slave markets until the early 20TH CENTURY. Turks had slaves less than 100 years ago. Dirty mongol shit.

No, they didn't. The western and northern coasts of anatolia were nothing but fishing villages. Hittites did not even rule all of anatolia. There was NOTHING in the aegean peninsula except fishing villages. What is embarrassing is your attempt to equivocate the settlement of Greeks in Anatolia and the vicious invasion of nomadic turks into Anatolia where they sacked MAJOR CITIES and carried the population off into slavery. There is no comparison between civilized Greeks and Barbarian turks.
